2. I would explain them just as they are in the book. Because the semi-truths aren't that hard to pick out in the book. I would tell them to look for love stories, stories about people being killed, and people dying because they aren't careful enough. I would tell them the most important aspects to pick up on in the book maybe are the minor characters in the story because they also have valuable roles in the story as well as the major characters.
- One movie that I have recently seen that said it was "based on a true story" was the Pregnacy Pact. Basically the movie is about one girl in high school got pregnant just because she thought it would make her boyfriend want to marry her, and she tells her friends to promise her that they all will get pregnant with her and they make that pact. Their world comes crashing down when the media finds out about their little pact and their boyfreinds find out and they are left alone to raise their baby on their own. My opion is that it was a crazy pact because if your still in high school and you don't have money to take care of yourself why would you bring anoyher mouth to feed into the world. I think those words did because if you look at it more and more teens are getting pregnant these days.

Things Carried
Some of the things I carry on a daily basis include: my cell phone, my wallet, a hair comb, carmex, and a pen or pencil. I must have my cell phone, my wallet, and my carmex. If a person was to look in my cell phone they would be able to tell that I am a sweet caring person that tries her best to help people out when she can.I consider my cell phone unique because some of the stuff I have in my cell phone other people may not have. Most of them are very similar to things that other students have because it would be very hard to find a student that carries their cell phone just about every where, and most people carry some form of lip moisturizer, and i would think that they carry their wallet because that's where most people have their license. Non of them represents anything to me nor are they necessary for physical survival but i would need my cell phone so i can have my peace of mind.

nickelodeon vs. cartoon network
Cartoon network and Nickelodeon are both cable television broadcasts. The original American broadcasting began in the 1990's. Reaching out to all age groups both cartoon network and nickelodeon has shows to satisfy people of all ages. Although they both show cartoons their shows arte very different. Nickelodeon has shows such as: Spongebob Squarepants, The fairly oddparents, and Back at the barnyard, just to name a few. Where as Cartoon NEtwork has shows such as: Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, and Ed,Edd, and Eddy. With these two cable programs their broadcastings are the same with a few differences that you can see by watching the programs.
Both broadcastings show cartoons in the day and and reality t.v at night. Nickelodeon has educational shows for the kids to watch in the morning. Not only are they educational, they are also fun for the kids to watch. Nickelodeon has cartoon shows that can entertain all age groups during the mid day, and Nick at Nite for anyone else. While Cartoon Network on the other hand don't really show as much reality t.v., but still gets the ratings that it needs to get.
As in most cable broadcastings they all need ratings to keep the program going. In nickelodeons case although they try to target all age groups, their main attraction during the morning and the mid day are kids and adolescents. Where as at night their main attraction are teens and grown-ups. Cartoon Network's case is a little different; it is possible that they try to attract all age groups, but their main attraction are preteens and kids. This is because they don't show reality shows. They only show cartoons. When the cartoon goes off in the day time around 11 o'clock adult swim comes on to reach the teens and adults.
As in most cartoon broadcasting networks, their cartoons are meant for entertainment. Both cable broadcastings show cartoons for the entertainment and the ratings. What age group they attract or what they show at night is quite different. When nickelodeon is on in the morning, or should I say "Nick jr." they have different shows to try and reach out to the younger kids to try and help them learn different things. Then it shows Nickeoldeon during the day for the entertainment of teens and preteens although it is not as educational as nick jr. it still attracts alot of people. Then there is nick at nite, this part of the broadcasting is probably for the teens and adults but it attracts all age groups. Cartoon network is mostly for the kids during the day and adults during the night. They show cartoons such as Tom and Jerry, Scooby doo, And Ed, Edd, and Eddy for the kids during the day and shows like Family Guy, and American Dad for the adults at night.
Both broadcastings have great shows. It just seems as though they all try to reach to different age groups at different times of the day. Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network has created great cartoons but they always entertain different age groups at different times of the day. Which is a good thing because all age groups are being entertained no matter what time of the day it is.

people one comes to admire doesn't always at first seem likable...
With some people you may be able to tell whether or not you will like them when they are first met. But with some you have to be around them for awhile before it can be determined whether or not you will like them, or whether or not they are the type of person that you like to hang around. Take for example, I have a best friend where we got along the moment we started hanging out, we have a few things in common but not many. But with my sister, she didn't like her at all. She said she was not the type of female she hangs around and she could tell this just by the way she carried herself. She tried to warn me about her, but I told her to let me live my life and hang around who I wanted to hang with.I thought she was the type of female that I would hang around until she started showing how she really was. The person I called my best friend tried to use me for what I had, if we went out somewhere I always had to buy her because she acted as if she never had money. My sister saw this but I didn't, I guess she was trying to let me see how my best friend really was for myself. She always got me to do things for her. For example, if my sister and I went out she always said that she wanted to go and that she had her own money to pay, but when we got to our destination she said that she forgot that she left her money at home and I always had to pay for it and she never paid me back or even offered to pay me back. Another example is, she always wanted to stay with me only to get to her boyfriend. She told her mom she was staying with me so she wouldn't get caught, she did this just about every weekend. On the days she did stay with us she sat around the house eating all our grocery, she had me fooled for awhile until she started bragging to the wrong people. The girl that I called my best friend had been talking about me the whole time we were hanging out. I didn't know she was jealous of me because she never showed it when she was around me, but she did when she was around others. For example, if I went out and left her behind she went to her cousins talking about me just because things didn't go her way. She said things like "how can she afford to go to the club, when she could not pay for us to get something to eat last night."Another example is: every boy I went with she wanted him and did anything in her power to break us up. If people asked her if she was staying with me for the weekend she sometimes said "no, she don't have any grocery." But it all started coming to the light lately because come to find out she had been talking about everybody that she hung around. For example, we have this friend named Natasha, but she doesn't have a job at the moment, the person we thought was a friend once again went to her cousins and said "natasha is so lazy, she don't want to do nothing with her life because if she did she will look for her a job." And once again it got back to us. We tried to give her a chance to tell us how she really felt towards us or tell us what she had been saying about us behind our backs, but she never told us or owned up to what she had said. But I learned that she isn't the type of person I hang around. Because if I call you my best friend, you shouldn't be jealous of me and what I have, you're supposed to be happy for me. And a best friend don't talk about their best friend behind their back. So I learned that with some people, although they seem likable at first doesn't mean your opinion of them will stay that way, now I see why my sister didn't like her. I'm just glad she didn't say, "I told you so."

My greatest challenge with this essay
My greatest challenge with typing this paper was finding a topic. It was hard for me to find a topic because I really didn't know what I could write a descriptive essay over without it being boring. After I found a topic it was still kind of hard to type my final draft because I only had two comments and they both said something totally different. One said that they didn't really know what I was writing about and that I needed to work on it some more. And another one told me that it was really good . So that really confused me. I didn't know whether to change my paper up or keep it the same. So I just changed some of it but I kept most of it because I also thought that it was sort of good. Because I thought it was going to be far worse than that. But I'm glad that I got through my first paper. I'm just hoping that my first paper earns me a good grade.
Sadly I didn't get to leave any comments on anyone's blog because the day they were assigned blogs to comment on I missed because I had to take my little brother to the doctor. But I'm sue that it was exciting and helpful at the same time. You got to read other people's draft and that probably helped some people out with their paper and you also got to tell that person what you thought about their paper.
I think my paper is a good paper but I think it could've been a better paper if I had of had a rough draft with Mrs. Aikens comments on it. I could've had one but the day she told me to meet with her my mom called and told me that I needed to come to the hospital because my brother had been hospitalized. But overall I enjoyed doing this paper. It took some time and hard work because I wasn't really used to writing a descriptive essay but it was worth it because it's just getting me used to doing papers like these

the love quadrille
Katrina is the type of girl that every girl wants to be. She is a very intelligent, down to earth, and easy to get along with type of person. Katrina is a 5'5, brown-skin, average type body, very pretty girl with hair that comes to the bottom of her neck. The problem with Katrina was that she fell for men too easy. Katrina liked all types 0f men, short, tall, skinny, dark-skinned, light-skinned, she liked all except for big men. Katrina had three men on her hands . She had Jody, Antonio, and Deshawn. Katrina felt as if she was lost. She loved both Jody and Deshawn, she just didn't know who she wanted to be with. She knew that Deshawn would be the best one for her, but she had been with Jody so long that she didn't want to leave him.Jody was the type of man you would call a closed door man. I say this because in front of his friends he would call Katrina everything but her name and when they were alone he acted as i he loved her so much and as if she was the best thing that came into his life. Jody was a 5'5, light-skinned, muscular built man with brown eyes, a fade with deep waves, and dimples when he smiled. Jody may have looked good on the outside but what was on the inside didn't look so good. Jody took over the relationship with him and Katrina. Jody was the type that liked to beat on his girlfriend: he said that was to keep her in check. Jody would get drunk and come home and pick fights. He would choke Katrina until she nearly passed out. He would hit her so hard that it left her with bruises. He would scratch her face up and tell her that he did it just so no other man would want her. He would always tell her that he owned her and that she would never be able to be with no one other than him. Another thing with Jody is that he tried to use Katrina for what she had. The only time it seemed as if Jody had time for Katrina was when he wanted something from her. He was cheating on her and she knew it that was why she had no regrets about Antonio and Deshawn. Jody would constantly ask Katrina for money and when he didn't get it she got beat and would not hear from him again until he wanted something else from her. But little did he know Katrina had two other men that he did not know about. When Jody went out partying Katrina went to have a little fun of her own.
The second man that Katrina talked to was a man named Antonio. Now Antonio was the very sensitive type. He was a 6'2, dark-skinned, medium build man. He was the type that always cried about the simplest things and gave Katrina anything she wanted and would do everything she told him to do. Katrina took over the relationship with her and Antonio. In other words Antonio was a push over and she did not like that. She wanted a man with a little more back bone. And that is where Deshawn comes in. Katrina loved Deshawn. The more Jody beat on her The more she liked Deshawn.
Deshawn was a 5'8, dark-skinned, medium build man that really liked Katrina. But Katrina was playing hard to get with him because she did not want to find another man like Jody. She wanted to see was Deshawn really the type of man that he acted like. Whenever Deshawn came around Katrina would act as if she was the shy type although she was far from shy. But it seemed as if the more she acted this way the less Deshawn liked her. If Katrina was going to talk to Deshawn she needed to be her and not the type of woman she was use to acting like when she was around Jody. Deshawn was the type of man that Katrina really liked . Although he called himself a "street man", he was sweet to Katrina. He would always offer Katrina things although she didn't accept them it was far more than what Jody was doing or even attempting to do. Deshawn would try to give Katrina his last. But don't get me wrong although he offered his last he was nothing like Antonio. Deshawn had a backbone and no one was going to run over him or tell him what to do. Now with Deshawn they were equal in the relationship and that was what she wanted. Someone that didn't try to run over her and someone that didn't let her run over them.
